About Simmone Jade Mackinnon
Born on March 19, 1973, Simmone Jade Mackinnon is an Australian talent known for her work as an actress and model. Audiences widely recognize her for portraying Allie Reese in Baywatch Hawaii from 1999 to 2000, and later as Stevie Hall in the popular Australian series McLeod's Daughters between 2003 and 2009.
Her early years were spent in Mount Isa, Queensland, where she was born to Ian and Annette Mackinnon. She has two siblings, a brother named Robbie and a sister named Kym. The family eventually relocated to Coffs Harbour in New South Wales.
Mackinnon's professional journey in acting commenced in 1988 with a role in the Australian film Something About Love. She went on to appear in two more films, Dating the Enemy and Dust of the Wings, in smaller capacities, though her part in Dust of the Wings was more substantial. Television opportunities arose in 1997, beginning with a guest spot on the fantasy series Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord, a continuation of the original Spellbinder program.
Her performance as Allie Reese on Baywatch: Hawaii, alongside David Hasselhoff, garnered significant attention. However, it was her role as Stevie Hall, and later Stevie Hall-Ryan, in the acclaimed McLeod's Daughters that cemented her fame. She was part of the series from the latter half of its third season until its conclusion in 2009. This role led to several Logie Award nominations, including Most Popular New Female Talent and Most Popular Actress. She also received Gold Logie Award nominations in 2007 and 2009.
Mackinnon's diverse television credits include appearances on Water Rats, All Saints, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World, The Cut, Rescue: Special Ops, Cops L.A.C., and City Homicide. In 2001, she featured in the television mini-series Attila, starring with Powers Boothe and Gerard Butler. The following year, she starred in the Syfy television film Deep Shock. Additionally, she took on roles in three direct-to-video films: Python, Dark Waters, and Submission, for which she also contributed as a producer. From 1993 to 1995, Mackinnon was part of the touring musical Cats, portraying the character "Cassandra" on stages across Australia and Asia.
In June 2009, Mackinnon participated as a presenter in the Nine Network's Random Acts of Kindness, sharing hosting duties with Karl Stefanovic and Scott Cam. She returned for a second season of the show in January 2010. On March 4, 2012, it was announced that she would join the cast of Neighbours as Zoe Alexander, appearing on screen from May and relocating to
