Hailing from Naples, Italy, Simona Tabasco has carved out a notable presence in the acting world. Her professional journey commenced in 2013 with the filming of two short productions showcased at the Giffoni Film Festival. Following this, she secured a role in the second installment of the Italian teen drama series, Fuoriclasse. Her cinematic introduction occurred in 2014 with Edoardo De Angelis's film Perez. This critically recognized work led to her receiving the Premio Guglielmo Biraghi at the 2015 Nastro d'Argento awards. The year 2020 saw Tabasco take on the character of Elisa Russo, a resident physician in internal medicine, in the Italian medical drama Doc – Nelle tue mani. Her international breakthrough arrived in 2022 with her involvement in the second season of HBO's anthology series, The White Lotus. In this acclaimed production, she embodied Lucia, a Sicilian sex worker, sharing the screen with fellow Italian actress Beatrice Granno. Her performance garnered widespread critical acclaim, and she, along with the ensemble cast, was honored with the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. In 2023, this role also earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. February 2023 marked another significant step as Tabasco was cast opposite Sydney Sweeney in the psychological horror film Immaculate.
