Simone Thomalla, born in Leipzig on April 11, 1965, is a multifaceted German talent known for her work as an actress, singer, and narrator of audiobooks. Her career took a significant turn with her role as apprentice Monika Helmholtz in the miniseries "Durchreise – Die Geschichte einer Firma." She later captured the attention of a broad audience as Eva Saalfeld, the Leipzig-based investigator in the popular "Tatort" series. Further solidifying her fame, she embraced the role of Katja Baumann, a helpful village figure, in the ZDF television series "Frühling."

The daughter of film architect Alfred Thomalla and model Erika Thomalla, Simone's personal life has seen several notable relationships. She was married to theater actor André Vetters from 1991 to 1995, with whom she shares a daughter, Sophia Thomalla, born in 1989. Following her marriage, she was in a relationship with actor Sven Martinek from 1995 to 1999. From 2000 to early 2009, she resided in Gelsenkirchen with football manager Rudi Assauer. Their partnership included commercial work for Veltins brewery, culminating in a Golden Camera award in 2006 for Best Commercial with Celebrities.
