About Tabrett Bethell
Born on May 18, 1981, Tabrett Bethell is an Australian talent who has graced film, television, and theater. Her most recognized performance comes from her role as Cara Mason in the television series Legend of the Seeker. Before embarking on her acting journey, Bethell spent her formative years as a fashion model starting at age 16 and also served as a cheerleader for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the National Rugby League.
Driven by a desire to act, Bethell dedicated herself to training at Screenwise, completing an intensive 12-month program in December 2007. Throughout this period, her modeling career continued, notably featuring on the February 2007 cover of The Daily Telegraph wearing a Neill Grigg fascinator designed to resemble the Harbour Bridge. Her early acting credits include a starring turn as Amy in Campbell Graham's film Anyone You Want and the part of Chris in Strangers Lovers Killers, which premiered in 2010.
From 2009 to 2010, Bethell was a fixture on Legend of the Seeker, a television adaptation of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels. She portrayed Cara Mason, a Mord'Sith who initially appeared at the close of the first season before becoming a main character in the second. Bethell's portrayal of Cara Mason resonated with viewers, earning her a devoted fan base. Following Legend of the Seeker, she took on the role of Beth in James Rabbitts's Australian thriller, The Clinic, filmed in Deniliquin, New South Wales, in November 2008.
In August 2010, Bethell's performance in Anyone You Want earned her the Best Actress award at the Manhattan Film Festival. March 2011 saw her cast in a Warner Bros. television pilot titled "Poe," where she was slated to play Sarah Elmira Royster, the muse and former lover of Edgar Allan Poe. However, ABC decided not to proceed with the series in May 2011. Bethell made her foray into Bollywood with the Hindi action thriller Dhoom 3: Back in Action, released on December 20, 2013. She shared the screen with Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif in this third installment of the popular franchise, which went on to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film globally in international markets.
She also made a guest appearance on Mistresses, featuring in Season 2, Episode 6, titled "What Do You Really Want," which aired on July 7, 2014, as the character Kate. In March 2014, Bethell was cast as the lead in the independent short film Oren. This film achieved recognition, winning two awards at the 2015 Hollywood Reel Independent Festival: Best Actress for Tab
