About Teresa Ann Savoy
Teresa Ann Savoy, a British actress recognized as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, built a notable career primarily within Italian cinema. Her journey into the public eye began at the tender age of 18, when she graced the pages of the Italian adult publication Playmen in its October 1973 issue, utilizing the pseudonym "Terry." Having left her childhood home at sixteen, Savoy was residing in a Sicilian hippie commune when her presence drew the attention of the press.
Her foray into acting commenced in 1974 under the direction of Alberto Lattuada, who cast her in her debut role as Clotilde in the film Le farò da padre, also known as I'll Take Her Like a Father. The following year, she appeared in Vizi privati, pubbliche virtù, a 1975 Italian production directed by Hungarian filmmaker Miklós Jancsó. This film chronicled the rebellion of Crown Prince Rudolf, son of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph, against his father, with Savoy portraying Rudolf's lover, Baroness Mary Vetsera.
Savoy's professional path crossed with director Tinto Brass in 1975, leading to their collaboration on the 1976 film Salon Kitty. In this cinematic work, she embodied a young woman from the League of German Maidens who infiltrates the SS Nazi paramilitary organization by posing as a prostitute. The year 1977 saw Savoy take on the role of Jamilah in the Italian made-for-television film Sandokan alla riscossa!, inspired by Emilio Salgari's popular Sandokan novels.
Tinto Brass directed her once more in 1979 for the widely discussed film Caligula, where she played Drusilla. Savoy's acting continued in 1981 with Aldo Lado's La disubbidienza, or Disobedience, in which she portrayed Edith, an alluring Jewish governess amidst the backdrop of the Salò Republic era. Also in 1981, she reunited with Miklós Jancsó for the film A zsarnok szíve, avagy Boccaccio Magyarországon, known in English as The Tyrant's Heart. A brief appearance followed in 1982 with a cameo in the mini-series La Certosa di Parma, or The Charterhouse of Parma.
Her filmography expanded in 1984 with a role in the low-budget production Il ragazzo di Ebalus, or The Boy from Ebalus. In 1986, Savoy took on the character of Maria di Gallese, the first wife of the writer and poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, who was played by Robert Powell, in the film D'Annunzio. The same year, she was featured in La Donna del Traghetto, or The Woman of the Ferry. Savoy was awarded
