While finishing high school, she developed a varied skill set that included operating an art store, working construction jobs, and assisting a magician with performances. Her entry into the entertainment industry began when she started taking suggestive photographs during her school years, which eventually led her to pursue work as a dancer at a strip club. It was there that she met another dancer also named Tommy, who suggested she adopt "King" as her surname while keeping her given name as her stage first name.
