Torrey Joël DeVitto, born June 8, 1984, is a multifaceted American talent known for her work as an actress, musician, philanthropist, producer, and former fashion model. She gained significant recognition for her recurring appearances as Melissa Hastings in the mystery series Pretty Little Liars, gracing screens from 2010 to 2017. DeVitto also captivated audiences as Dr. Meredith Fell in The Vampire Diaries between 2012 and 2013, and as Carrie in One Tree Hill from 2008 to 2009. In 2013, she took on the role of Maggie Hall for the concluding season of Lifetime's drama Army Wives. More recently, since 2015, she has been a prominent figure as Dr. Natalie Manning in the NBC medical drama Chicago Med. Beyond her acting career, DeVitto dedicates her time to various charitable causes and serves as a Hospice Ambassador.
Born in Huntington, Long Island, Torrey DeVitto was raised in Winter Park, Florida. Her mother, Mary, whose maiden name is Torrey, was a close friend of Stevie Nicks from the late 1970s. Her father, Liberty DeVitto, was Billy Joel's long-time drummer. Mary and Liberty met in 1983 when he was performing as the drummer on Stevie Nicks' Wild Heart Tour. Coincidentally, on the very day Torrey was born, Billy Joel was performing at Wembley Arena. He paused before playing "The Longest Time" to announce that Liberty's wife was giving birth, prompting a standing ovation for her father. Torrey carries her mother's maiden name as her first name. She has Italian heritage. As of January 2024, Torrey DeVitto has cultivated a substantial online presence with 1.0 million followers on Instagram.
