Valerie Bertinelli — Biography

Valerie Anne Bertinelli, born on April 23, 1960, is a prominent American actress. She rose to fame in her teenage years by playing Barbara Cooper Royer on the beloved sitcom One Day at a Time, which aired from 1975 to 1984. Her performance in this role earned her two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film. Following this success, she garnered further acclaim as Gloria in the religious drama Touched by an Angel from 2001 to 2003, and as Melanie Moretti on the sitcom Hot in Cleveland, which ran from 2010 to 2015. Her role in Hot in Cleveland also garnered her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. In recognition of her contributions to entertainment, Bertinelli received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012. Additionally, she has hosted multiple shows on the Food Network, including Valerie's Home Cooking from 2015 to 2023 and Kids Baking Championship, which began in 2015 and continues to this day. Through her work on Valerie's Home Cooking, she has won two Daytime Emmy Awards from six nominations. In December 2021, she entered into a new agreement with Food Network. Bertinelli was previously married to legendary rock musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 until their divorce in 2007, and the couple has one son together, Wolfgang. She was later married to Tom Vitale from 2011 to 2022.
