Born in Kansas City, Missouri, to a family with Portuguese and Irish roots, Wendy Moniz established herself as a prominent American actress. Her career is notably marked by her portrayals of Louisa Archer in the television series The Guardian, which aired from 2001 to 2004, and Rachel McCabe in Nash Bridges, from 2000 to 2001. Audiences also recall her significant role as Dinah Marler on the long-running soap opera Guiding Light, where she appeared between 1995 and 1999. Moniz has been married to fellow actor Frank Grillo, whom she met on the set of Guiding Light, since October 28, 2000. Together, they are parents to two sons, Liam, born in August 2004, and Rio Grillo, born in January 2008. Moniz is also a stepmother to Remy, Frank Grillo's son from his previous marriage, who was born in January 1997. Prior to her marriage to Grillo, Moniz was married to David Birsner.
