Whitney Cummings is a multifaceted American comedian, actress, writer, producer, director, and podcaster. Her initial foray into the entertainment industry included stand-up comedy, acting, and various internships, notably one at WRC-TV, an NBC affiliate in Washington. After completing her college education, Cummings relocated to Los Angeles, where she gained recognition through her performance in the indie thriller EMR and her involvement in MTV's Punk'd. By the mid-2000s, her stand-up career blossomed, earning her the title of one of Variety’s 10 Comics to Watch in 2007, in addition to her appearances at Comedy Central Roasts. A pivotal moment in her television career arrived in 2011 when she co-created and executive produced the sitcom 2 Broke Girls, featuring Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings, while also starring in and producing her own show, Whitney. Cummings has maintained her momentum with comedy specials, various roles in film and television, and the direction of the film The Female Brain.
