Xenia von Sachsen — Biography

Xenia Florence Gabriela Sophie Iris Princess of Saxony, Duchess of Saxony, born on August 20, 1986, in Düsseldorf, is a multifaceted German artist known for her work as a singer, writer, and columnist. Since 2025, she has lent her voice to the Eurodance group Sqeezer.

The daughter of farmer Theo Clevan and hairdresser Iris, Princess of Saxony, Duchess of Saxony, Xenia faced a significant health challenge early in life. At the age of ten, she was diagnosed with a skull tumor that required a complex surgical removal six years later. Her musical journey began in 2004 with the formation of her first pop band, Expensive Surprise, leading to appearances on the television show Popstars.

Her television presence expanded in 2005 when she participated in the reality competition Die Burg, ultimately securing second place. Xenia's writing career took flight in 2007 with several published columns in the Mallorca Zeitung. In 2010, she joined a therapeutic fasting retreat on St. Lucia, documented for the taff series Projekt Paradies, alongside other public figures. That same year, she gained recognition in the United Kingdom for her role in the BBC Three series Undercover Princesses.

Xenia detailed her personal experiences, including abuse and illness, in her 2011 autobiography, Xenia – From the Life of a Princess in the 21st Century. In this memoir, she also voiced strong criticisms of the nobility's pursuit of recognition and their practices of arranged marriages and adoptions. The publication of her book prompted a public statement from Maria Emanuel Margrave of Meissen, head of the House of Wettin, who dismissed her as insignificant and a detriment to the ancient house. In 2013, she attended the Vienna Opera Ball as the companion of fashion designer Harald Glööckler, who was dressed as "Sisi."

Her competitive spirit was evident in 2016 when she won the RTL show Das Sommerhaus der Stars - Kampf der Promipaare with her then-partner Rajab Hassan, earning approximately 50,000 euros and the title "Celebrity Couple 2016." Later that year, she represented Saxony in the ProSieben dance competition Deutschland tanzt. In 2020, Xenia released her debut single, a German cover of Helene Fischer's hit "Atemlos durch die Nacht." She also partnered with ex-DSDS contestant Melody Haase in the reality show CoupleChallenge, emerging victorious and winning €65,000. In January 2021, she participated in the special season of Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus! titled The Great Jungle Show. The following year, she teamed up with Melody Haase again, winning the dating format Swipe, Match, Love? – Reality Stars in Dating Fever
