Yukiko Iwai — Biography
Born on May 26, 1968, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, Yukiko Iwai, also affectionately known as Yūyu, forged a career in Japanese music and acting. Her public journey began as part of the popular all-female ensemble Onyanko Club, where she participated from June 21, 1985, to August 31, 1987. Among her fellow group members, Iwai stood out for her petite stature, measuring just 150 centimeters, or 4 feet 11 inches. Furthermore, she lent her talents to Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi, a musical pairing that emerged from the Onyanko Club collective. Academically, Iwai completed her studies at Kaetsu Women's Junior High and High School, though her time at Kaetsu Women's Junior College was cut short before graduation. She shares a familial bond with her elder sister, Akiko, who is four years her senior and reportedly bears a striking resemblance to Yukiko.
