Yuko Aoki — Biography
Born on February 5, 1977, in Takahata, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, Yuko Aoki began her modeling career in 1995. Her presence was quickly recognized as she was named "Visual Queen of the Year" by Fuji TV in 1996. Throughout the latter half of the 1990s, Aoki frequently graced the covers of Japanese bikini photo magazines. She also lent her image to the advertising campaign for Suntory's Milpower beverage.
Aoki stepped away from modeling in 1998, marking her official retirement from the profession in 2000. She then turned her attention to her initial passion: a music career. In February 1998, she presented a healing music concert at Casals Hall, situated near Ochanomizu Station. By June 1999, Aoki was utilizing her singing talents to fundraise for refugees in Kosovo. December 16, 2002, saw Aoki in Tokyo, where she unveiled a chocolate-covered statue of David Beckham, a move designed to generate publicity. Her musical endeavors continued in 2003 with the release of an album titled Blue under the Universal Japan label. Currently, Aoki is the lead vocalist for the band icy blue. Her extensive presence in the media is evidenced by her appearance on the covers of, and being the subject of significant features in, nearly fifty Japanese magazines, including the March 12, 1996, issue of Weekly Playboy.
