Born Zoe Swicord Kazan on September 9, 1983, this Greek-American talent is celebrated for her work as an actress, playwright, and screenwriter. Her cinematic journey began with a role in Swordswallowers and Thin Men in 2003. She went on to grace the screen in notable films like The Savages, Revolutionary Road, and It's Complicated.

Kazan took leading roles in Happythankyoumoreplease and Meek's Cutoff in 2010, followed by starring turns in Ruby Sparks and What If. Her performance in the 2014 HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge garnered her an Emmy nomination. She played Emily Gardner in the acclaimed film The Big Sick and later featured in the Coen Brothers' anthology film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, specifically in the segment "The Gal Who Got Rattled." Her stage presence has also been a significant part of her career, with numerous appearances on Broadway.

Beyond her acting credits, Kazan has demonstrated her creative prowess as a writer. Kazan is an alumna of Yale University, an institution also attended by her grandfather. During her time there, she was part of the Manuscript Society, and she earned a bachelor of arts degree in theatre in 2005. She has been in a committed relationship with actor Paul Dano since 2007.
