Agnieszka Kotlarska — Biography

Agnieszka Kotlarska was a Polish model and beauty pageant winner who gained renown on a global scale.

She distinguished herself by becoming the first Polish woman to be crowned Miss International in 1991, a significant achievement in the beauty pageant world. Following this victory, Kotlarska embarked on a thriving modeling career in New York. She collaborated with prominent designers such as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, and her image graced the pages of prestigious publications including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Playboy.

Tragically, her life ended prematurely on August 27, 1996. She was fatally stabbed outside her residence in Wrocław, Poland, by an individual who had been stalking her. Her husband sustained injuries during the assault, which was witnessed by their two-year-old daughter.

Kotlarska's untimely death shed considerable light on the perils of stalking and underscored the necessity for enhanced safeguards for those who experience violence. In her memory, the "AGA" Foundation was founded in Wrocław, focusing on supporting individuals who have been subjected to violence and stalking.
