Aimee Carrero — Biography

Born on July 15, 1988, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Aimee Carrero spent her formative years in Miami, Florida. Her academic journey included attending Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School, from which she graduated in 2006. Carrero embarked on her professional acting endeavors in 2007, quickly establishing a presence in television. Her early television credits feature appearances in shows such as Hannah Montana and Lincoln Heights, both in 2006, and The Mentalist in 2008.

Carrero made her significant film debut with a role in the 2009 animated comedy, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. She is perhaps most widely recognized for her starring role in the television film Level Up, released in 2011. This film, which premiered on November 23, 2011, led to a television series of the same name that debuted the following year. In the series, Carrero reprised her character, Angie Prietto, a vibrant teenager, joining her fellow actors in continuing the narrative's explorations within and beyond the fictional online video game "Maldark: Conqueror of All Worlds." The series, built upon these continuing adventures, aired on Cartoon Network, the same network that first showcased the film. Her subsequent film project was the 2012 television film Blue Lagoon: The Awakening, which also featured Indiana Evans, Brenton Thwaites, and Denise Richards. Since 2009, Carrero has made her home in Los Angeles, California. As of February 2026, she maintains a following of 290,000 users on Instagram.
