Alexandra Walsh — Biography
Born on July 31, 2001, Alexandra Walsh is an accomplished American swimmer celebrated for her adaptability across all four strokes, a skill that has propelled her to prominence in medley races. Her competitive swimming journey began with exceptional promise; she started breaking national age group records at the young age of 12 in 2014. During her high school years, Walsh was instrumental in guiding her team to numerous state and national titles. Her international debut at the 2019 Pan American Games saw her secure an impressive three gold medals. Walsh then commenced her collegiate career at the University of Virginia in 2020, where she played a key role in the team's triumphs, contributing to NCAA Championship victories in 2021, 2022, and 2023. She earned a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, ultimately capturing the silver medal in the 200-meter individual medley. In 2022, Walsh achieved significant success at the World Championships, claiming three gold medals, and later that year, she added to her medal haul at the World Championships (25m) with three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
