Alicia Witt — Biography
Alicia Roanne Witt, born on August 21, 1975, is an accomplished American actress, singer, and pianist. She gained early recognition as a child star after being discovered by the influential filmmaker David Lynch, who cast her in his film Dune (1984) and the television series Twin Peaks (1990). Witt became well-known for her role as Zoe Woodbine, the daughter of the main character, on Cybill Shepherd's sitcom Cybill (1995–1998), where she appeared for four seasons. Her film career includes a noteworthy performance as a troubled teenager in Fun (1994), a music student in Mr. Holland's Opus (1995), and a college student in peril in the horror movie Urban Legend (1998). She was also featured in notable films such as Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky (2001), Two Weeks Notice (2002), Last Holiday (2006), and the thriller 88 Minutes (2007). Witt's television credits are extensive, having appeared in series like The Walking Dead, The Sopranos, Nashville, Two and a Half Men, The Librarians, Friday Night Lights, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Mentalist, Justified, Twin Peaks: The Return, CSI: Miami, and Orange Is the New Black. Beyond her acting talents, Witt is recognized as a musical prodigy, showcasing her skills as a pianist, singer, and songwriter.
