Alison Carroll — Biography
In the summer of 2008, Alison Carroll stepped into the iconic shoes of Lara Croft, becoming the face of promotional activities for the highly anticipated video game, Tomb Raider: Underworld. Her journey to this role was preceded by dedicated training at the Urdang Academy, where she honed her skills in Musical Theatre, graduating with honors in 2007. Prior to her acting career, Carroll distinguished herself as a professional display gymnast, proudly representing Great Britain on an international stage. Her passion for gymnastics extends beyond her personal achievements, as she currently dedicates her time to coaching young gymnasts, even choreographing a junior team to victory at the British National Championships. Her registered acting career commenced in 2007. It was in August 2008, while working as a receptionist at a golf club, that she learned of her selection as the new Lara Croft model for Tomb Raider: Underworld, succeeding Karima Adebibe who had concluded her tenure earlier that year. Carroll occupied this prominent role until 2010. She holds the distinction of being the last official model to portray Lara Croft, as subsequent installments of the Tomb Raider franchise moved away from using models for promotional purposes.
