Amanda Peet is a prominent American actress whose journey in the entertainment industry began with minor roles on television. She made her film debut in 1995 with Animal Room. Her breakout role came in 2000 when she played Jill St. Claire in The Whole Nine Yards, which significantly raised her profile. Since then, she has showcased her talent in a range of films, including Saving Silverman (2001), High Crimes, Changing Lanes, and Igby Goes Down (all released in 2002), as well as Something's Gotta Give and Identity (both in 2003). Her filmography also includes Melinda and Melinda (2004), A Lot Like Love, and Syriana (both in 2005), along with The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008), 2012 (2009), and Gulliver's Travels (2010). More recently, she appeared in Identity Thief and The Way, Way Back (2013).
On the television front, Peet portrayed Jacqueline Barrett in The WB’s Jack & Jill from 1999 to 2001, followed by her role as Jordan McDeere in NBC's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007), and Tina Morris in HBO’s Togetherness (2015-2016). She also played Jules in IFC’s Brockmire (2016-2020), and took on the role of Betty Broderick in the second season of Bravo's Dirty John (2020). In 2023, she starred as Beth Gallagher in the Paramount+ series adaptation of Fatal Attraction. In addition to her acting work, Peet co-wrote and served as a co-executive producer for the Netflix series The Chair in 2021. She is married to David Benioff, a screenwriter, and they share three children together. Notably, she was ranked #87 in FHM magazine’s list of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World in 2006.
