Angela Jane Melini was born on July 25, 1969, in Saigon, Vietnam, and is known as an American model, actress, and entrepreneur. She gained fame as the Playmate of the Month for the June 1992 edition of Playboy magazine, with her centerfold captured by photographer Arny Freytag. Over a decade, Melini continued her relationship with Playboy, featuring in various newsstand special editions and videos, working first as a nude glamour and pin-up model, and then as a promotional model and feature reporter for the Playboy Channel.

Melini's heritage is distinctly mixed; her mother is Vietnamese, while her father was an Italian-American soldier who tragically lost his life during the Vietnam War before she and her twin brother were born. This rich cultural background contributes to Melini's exotic Eurasian look. In 1975, at the age of five, Melini immigrated to the United States with her mother during Operation Frequent Wind, settling in the suburbs near Olympia, Washington. Unfortunately, her brother had to stay behind in Vietnam, among the many who were subjected to the government's policies aimed at rebuilding the war-torn economy. As of December 2007, he remained in his home country.

Melini completed her secondary education at Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington, graduating in 1987. She was in the process of earning a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at the University of Washington when fate intervened. While waiting on a curb outside Playboy's headquarters in Los Angeles for a girlfriend submitting her photographs, Melini was discovered by a Playboy photographer.

Today, Melini runs two commercial websites: her personal adult-themed site, AngelaMelini.com, and a multi-model adult site called MarquisModels.com. She frequently appears at fan conventions such as Glamourcon, where she interacts with fans, sells signed Playboy memorabilia, and recruits new female nude and pin-up models for her site. Occasionally, she still does promotional work for Playboy at The Palms Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, a venue that boasts the only active Playboy Club.

In May 2008, Melini announced her plan to conclude her modeling career within the year, stating her intention not to model past the age of 40. She also revealed a new business venture involving a line of baby accessories, named MaybeeBaby. Additionally, Melini has been recognized as Playmate of the Month for multiple international editions of Playboy, including Argentina, Spain, Italy, Japan, and the Czech Republic, across various months in 1991 and 1992.
