Anna Fenninger — Biography

Anna Veith, whose maiden name was Fenninger, arrived on June 18, 1989, and has since established herself as a prominent figure in World Cup alpine ski racing, proudly representing Austria and achieving Olympic gold. Her dominance was particularly evident in the 2014 and 2015 seasons, when she secured the coveted overall World Cup title. Hailing from the town of Adnet in Salzburg, Veith made her initial foray into the World Cup circuit at the young age of 17 in November 2006. While capable across all five alpine skiing disciplines, she had, by January 2012, chosen to exclude slalom from her competitive focus. Her breakthrough on the international stage came in 2011 when she clinched the world championship in the super combined event, a remarkable achievement accomplished prior to any World Cup race victory. The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, marked a significant milestone for Veith as she triumphed in the super-G at Rosa Khutor, earning her first Olympic medal. To cap off that exceptional season, she went on to claim both the World Cup overall and giant slalom titles.
