Annette Funicello — Biography

Annette Joanne Funicello was an American performer, known for her work as both an actress and a singer. Her professional journey commenced at the young age of twelve. She quickly gained widespread recognition as one of the beloved Mouseketeers on the inaugural Mickey Mouse Club. In her teenage years, Annette successfully launched a recording career, releasing popular songs such as "O Dio Mio," "Tall Paul," and "Pineapple Princess." Concurrently, she carved out a niche for herself as a film actress, notably helping to define the burgeoning "Beach Party" film genre alongside co-star Frankie Avalon during the mid-1960s. In 1992, Annette revealed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. She passed away on April 8, 2013, due to complications stemming from the illness.
