Rachel Marie Oberlin, known professionally as Bree Olson, was born on October 7, 1986, in Houston, Texas. When she was two years old, she and her mother relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, settling in Woodburn after her mother and stepfather purchased property there. As an only child until age nine, she endured a difficult upbringing marked by hardship and mistreatment. Her maternal grandmother had survived the Holocaust and emigrated from Ukraine, and the family eventually established roots in Indiana. Beginning at age twelve, Bree worked during summer months detasseling corn, followed by employment as a busgirl at fifteen. She completed her high school education at Woodlan High School in 2005 and initially pursued higher education at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne as a pre-med biology student, but she withdrew during her second year to explore different paths. She is of Caucasian descent with Ukrainian ancestry through her mother's lineage. The stage name Bree Olson was deliberately selected for its appealing, innocent quality and as a subtle reference to the Olsen twins, though various credits also listed her as Brea or Bree Olsen. She entered the adult entertainment industry in November 2006 at age twenty, having struggled to manage full-time telemarketing employment alongside her college coursework. Faced with financial pressure, she contacted production companies including Digital Playground and Elegant Angel before making her debut in explicit films following her withdrawal from university. Throughout her career, she worked with major studios such as Digital Playground, Elegant Angel, Red Light District Video, Adam & Eve where she held a contract from 2007 to 2010, Vivid Entertainment, Hustler, and Pure Play Media.
