Busy Philipps — Biography
Busy Philipps, born Elizabeth Jean on June 25, 1979, is an American performer recognized for her distinctive presence on television. Her early career featured memorable turns in formative shows like Freaks and Geeks, which aired from 1999 to 2000, followed by significant arcs on Dawson's Creek between 2001 and 2003, and a stint on ER from 2006 to 2007. However, it was her role as Laurie Keller in the ABC comedy Cougar Town, spanning from 2009 to 2015, that garnered significant acclaim, including a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Philipps has also contributed to a variety of films, taking on supporting characters in productions such as The Smokers (2000), Home Room (2002), White Chicks (2004), Made of Honor (2008), He's Just Not That Into You (2009), The Gift (2015), and I Feel Pretty (2018). Transitioning into a hosting role, she fronted her own late-night program, Busy Tonight, on the E! network from 2018 to 2019.
