Cara Wakelin, an Australian-born model and actress from Melbourne, Victoria, became well-known for her feature as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in November 1999. She posed for a total of 7 magazine covers and 7 photosets throughout her career before stepping away from the industry in 2010. Born on February 8, 1977, Wakelin was one of triplets, though one sibling did not survive. She relocated to Toronto, Canada during her childhood with her single mother and attended Etobicoke School of the Arts before enrolling at McMaster University. Despite being naturally quiet and reserved, she decided to pursue modeling after spotting a Playboy advertisement during her final year of school. With her mother's encouragement, she auditioned for Playboy's "Millennium Playmate" competition in 1998. Following a promising test shoot, she secured the title of Playmate of the Month.

Her most iconic appearance came when Hugh Hefner featured her on the cover of the Canadian Playboy edition dressed in a hockey jersey, an image that proved wildly popular and led to the issue selling out within two weeks across Canada. Beyond her Playmate recognition, she graced magazine covers in Greece, Italy, and Poland. She also appeared in numerous Playboy video productions and worked as a model for major corporations including Coca-Cola, Miller Brewing Company, and Budweiser. Her acting credits include a role in Death to Smoochy and appearances on the television series Relic Hunter, along with a 2004 appearance on The Howard Stern Show. She participated in the Playmates at Play calendar in 2005. Currently, Wakelin resides between Los Angeles and Toronto, maintaining a largely private existence away from the public eye.
