Chisato Morishita — Biography

Chisato Morishita began her tenure as a representative for Miyagi's fourth district in February of 2026, securing her victory in that year's general election. Prior to this district-specific win, she had already established a presence in the House of Representatives, having been elected through the Tohoku proportional representation bloc in the 2024 general election. Her public service extends to her role as Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Environment, a position she has held since October 2025, serving under Minister Hirotaka Ishihara within the administration of Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Morishita makes her home in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture.
