Christina Applegate is a well-known American actress who began her career as a child star. She became popular for her portrayal of Kelly Bundy in the Fox sitcom Married... with Children, where she appeared alongside Amanda Bearse and Katey Sagal. As an adult, Applegate built a prosperous career in both film and television, earning a Primetime Emmy Award from seven nominations, as well as garnering four Golden Globe Award nominations and a Tony Award nomination.

She took on the lead role in the NBC sitcom Jesse, which brought her a nomination for a Golden Globe Award. Her performance as a guest on the NBC sitcom Friends earned her a Primetime Emmy Award. Applegate also received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the Broadway revival of Sweet Charity. Her subsequent role in the ABC sitcom Samantha Who? led to two nominations each for the Primetime Emmy Award and the Golden Globe Award. She also starred in the NBC sitcom Up All Night and played a key role in the Netflix dark comedic series Dead to Me, which landed her three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe nomination.

In addition to her television success, Applegate has appeared in numerous films, including Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, The Big Hit, The Sweetest Thing, Grand Theft Parsons, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Hall Pass, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Vacation, Bad Moms, and Crash Pad. In August 2021, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis several months earlier.
