Christine Renea Salters, known as Christy Martin, was born on June 12, 1968, and earned the nickname "The Coal Miner's Daughter." She is a retired American professional boxer, boxing commentator, and motivational speaker. Her boxing career spanned from 1989 to 2012, during which she captured the WBC female super welterweight title in 2009. In 2016, Martin became the first woman to be inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame, and she was honored with an induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2020, marking the inaugural year that women appeared on the ballot. In 2021, Netflix premiered "Untold: Deal with the Devil," a documentary that delves into her life and boxing journey.
