Über Cindy Margolis
Cynthia Dawn "Cindy" Margolis, born on October 1, 1965, is a notable American glamour model and actress. Raised in Los Angeles, California, she began her modeling journey independently. While a student at California State University, Northridge, Margolis conducted a business project involving greeting cards, which inspired her to create a line featuring herself in lingerie. She took the bold step of including her phone number on these cards, which led to a surge in interest from agents who wanted to collaborate with the enticing woman they saw. Margolis went on to model for well-known brands such as Reebok, Vidal Sassoon, Coors, Hanes, and Sunkist.
She gained fame among late-night television audiences primarily through her role as an infomercial co-host for both nostalgic and dubious ads, including those with Tony Robbins and Don Lapre. In 1995, Margolis made a brief appearance as one of Barker's Beauties on the game show The Price Is Right. She hosted her own late-night talk show, The Cindy Margolis Show, in 2000, which was filmed in Miami Beach, Florida.
As the Internet began to flourish, Margolis capitalized on the opportunity to build her own website, achieving significant popularity. From 1996 to 1999, she was celebrated as the "Queen of the Internet" by Yahoo! Internet Life magazine. Her digital presence led to her being recognized in the 2000 Guinness Book of World Records as the "most downloaded" person in 1999, achieving a remarkable 70,000 downloads in just 24 hours at the age of 34. Notably, during this period, she maintained a modest profile by refraining from topless or nude appearances on her platform or in Playboy. However, her title as "most downloaded" was later taken by Danni Ashe on December 5, 2000.
In November 2005, she became the host for Chipleaders in partnership with the World Poker Tour. A significant shift occurred in April 2006 when Margolis revealed in an interview with The Washington Post that she decided to pose fully nude for the December 2006 issue of Playboy. Though she had featured in Playboy several times before, this marked her first nude appearance. She expressed that at 40, she felt confident in her body and wanted to serve as a role model for mothers and women her age. Margolis remarked, "It will be fun to go up against the 20-year-olds and show them that they don't have anything on me!"
Her nude pictorial was integrated with a charitable cause, as a portion of the proceeds would support Resolve, a charity she represented that focuses on improving insurance coverage for fertility treatments. Margolis tailored her modeling career by acknowledging the encouraging interest from Playboy since she was 18, and expressed pride in her decision to pose nude, celebrating her identity as the "ultimate girl next door."
