Damaris Phillips — Biography

After finding herself uncertain about her path, Damaris Phillips pursued a culinary education at Jefferson Community and Technical College, where she earned her degree in Culinary Arts. She eventually transitioned into teaching, becoming an instructor in the culinary field. Her national recognition arrived in early 2013 as she competed in the ninth season of the Food Network's show, Food Network Star. Making it to the final three, Phillips filmed a pilot episode for a prospective series titled Eat, Date, Love. Her successful run concluded with her being declared the winner of the competition on August 11, 2013.
