Dana Plato — Biography
Dana Plato's story is one of those numerous Hollywood tales that feels as though it should have concluded on a more positive note. Born under the sign of Scorpio in southern California, she was the second child of a teenage mother who was already facing difficulties in caring for her first child, just 18 months old at the time. In June 1965, Dana was adopted by Dan Plato, a truck company owner, and his wife, Florine, affectionately known as "Kay." She originally bore the surname Strain before taking on Plato—a rather unusual coincidence.
