Davon Kim, hailing from Cebu City in the Philippines, has graced the covers of 191 magazines, starred in 135 photosets, and appeared in 56 videos prior to her retirement in 2018. On her website, she shares insights into her journey into modeling. Davon was born in Cebu City and raised by her grandmother in Daanbantayan, a picturesque area located about 120 kilometers from the city, known for its proximity to both the sea and the mountains. Upon finishing primary school, her parents wished for her to attend high school in Cebu City, prompting her move back to live with them, situated 18 kilometers north of the city. During her time at a Catholic high school, she found the experience unexciting. After high school, she enrolled in university, unsure of the right course for her. Ultimately, she chose to study Bachelor of Science in Tourism, drawn by the open-mindedness and shared interests of her peers, particularly enjoying the company of her vibrant and liberated female friends.
One of her college friends, who worked as a model, suggested she explore modeling. This friend introduced Davon to her manager, leading to her first gig in body painting. This initial experience opened the door to numerous photoshoots and shows, and she quickly grew comfortable with showcasing her body. Davon also participated in beauty contests; however, her desire to move to Manila with her friend to pursue modeling led her to drop out of university, causing a rift with her parents. During her journey, she encountered a lady who managed talents going to work in Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan. Davon ventured to Singapore for three months, followed by a three-month stint in Malaysia and six months in Japan, taking on similar entertainment roles.
