Eartha Kitt — Biography

Eartha Kitt, an American entertainer, captivated audiences with her unique vocal delivery and iconic renditions of "C'est si bon" and the playful holiday tune "Santa Baby" in 1953. Her performing journey commenced in 1942, leading her to a role in the original 1945 Broadway production of the musical Carib Song. Kitt's extensive list of accomplishments also features her memorable appearance as the third live-action Catwoman in the classic BATMAN television series alongside Adam West. While she was the third actress to embody the iconic character, her interpretation unfortunately didn't quite reach the heights of Julie Newmar, whose dynamic with the lead actor was truly unforgettable. Kitt's approach was considered overly fierce, lacking the subtle, alluring grace expected of the character.
