Elodie Yung — Biography

Hailing from Paris, France, Elodie Yung's heritage is a blend of Cambodian and French roots. Her formative years were spent in Le Bourget, a district within Seine-saint-Denis, where she dedicated herself to karate, eventually earning a black belt. Academically, Yung pursued higher education at the University of La Sorbonne in Paris, completing a law degree. Subsequently, she shifted her focus to the performing arts, enrolling in the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. As of February 2025, Yung commands a substantial online presence with 370,000 followers on Instagram. Her martial arts proficiency extends to a black belt in karate. She was notably considered for the iconic role of Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yung's father is of Cambodian heritage, while her mother is French. She holds the distinction of being the first actress of non-American nationality to embody the character of Elektra in a live-action adaptation. Elodie Yung is also a mother to her daughter, Minnavan Howard, born on August 2, 2018, with her partner Jonathan Howard.
