Eve Meyer — Biography
Eve Meyer, originally named Eve Turner, hailed from Griffin, Georgia. In the 1950s, she gained prominence as a celebrated pin-up model and earned the title of Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month in June 1955. Her first film appearance, though uncredited, was in the 1955 movie Artists and Models. Following her marriage to filmmaker Russ Meyer, she became a regular photographic model for him and starred in the 1959 film Operation Dames. Additionally, she played a leading role in Meyer's 1960 exploitation classic, Eve and the Handyman. Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, Eve Meyer took on the role of producer, associate producer, or executive producer for several of Meyer’s films, including the notable Beyond the Valley of the Dolls released in 1970. At the time of her tragic passing in the Tenerife disaster in 1977, where two 747 airplanes collided on the runway, she was also recognized as a successful businesswoman. Eve's marriage history includes a union with Russ Meyer from April 2, 1952, until their divorce in June 1966, and a second marriage to Chris Warfield from December 13, 1968, until their divorce in March 1970.
