Janet Jones — Biography

Born January 10, 1961, Janet Jones has carved out a career as an American actress, dancer, and fitness instructor. She is famously married to hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. Jones appeared in productions such as Annie in 1982, Staying Alive in 1983, and Snow White Live in 1980. She also had a minor role in The Beastmaster released in 1982. Her career gained significant momentum with her role in The Flamingo Kid in 1984, followed by an appearance in the cinematic adaptation of A Chorus Line in 1985. The year 1986 saw her in American Anthem, sharing the screen with gymnast Mitch Gaylord. In 1987, Jones was featured in a semi-nude spread in the March issue of Playboy. Their paths crossed again at a Los Angeles Lakers game in 1987, and they were married on July 17, 1988, in a ceremony at St. Joseph's Basilica that was broadcast live throughout Canada. The high-profile nature and romantic ambiance of their wedding drew comparisons to the celebrated nuptials of Princess Diana and Prince Charles. At the time of their wedding, Jones was four months pregnant with their first child, Paulina, who was born on December 19, 1988.
