Über Karen Price
Karen Elaina Price was born on July 17, 1960 in Pasadena, California, and has worked as an American model, stunt performer, television producer, and Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for January 1981. Prior to her Playmate career, Price worked as both a personal gymnastics instructor and a children's gymnastics teacher. The January 1981 Playboy centerfold featuring Price gained significant historical recognition for containing one of the final interviews conducted with John Lennon, an interview that had occurred several months earlier before his murder in December 1980 and was published around the time of his death. Following her Playmate debut, Price pursued an acting career before transitioning into stunt work across more than 27 films, including Leonard Part 6 in 1987, Police Academy 2 in 1985, The Golden Child in 1986, and Old Gringo in 1989, where she served as stunt double for actress Jane Fonda. After stepping away from the industry, Price later began working as an associate producer on television programs including Amazing Vacation Homes in 2004 and Amazing Babies in 2005. Price also made a notable appearance in Mel Gibson's film The Road Warrior, with her centerfold image affixed to the tailfin of the character Gyro Captain's Benson gyrocopter. Price was featured as Playmate of the Month in multiple international Playboy editions including Mexico, Australia, and Spain in January 1981, and in Japan in February 1981.
