Karolina Muchova — Biography
Karolína Muchová, born August 21, 1996, is a Czech tennis competitor. Her highest singles standing on the professional circuit is 19th in the world. Muchová has competed in two WTA Tour finals, securing one championship at the 2019 Korea Open, an International level event. She officially began her professional career in 2013. Her breakthrough moment came at the 2018 US Open, where she eliminated the then 12th-ranked player and two-time Grand Slam winner, Garbiñe Muguruza, in the second round. The subsequent year, Muchová advanced to her inaugural Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon, upsetting the third-ranked player and favored competitor, Karolína Plíšková. In 2021, at the Australian Open, she made it to the semifinals after defeating the world's top-ranked player, Ashleigh Barty, before being defeated by Jennifer Brady.
