Born on July 4, 1990, in Tampa, Florida, Merica Lane Lindell is a prominent figure in both the fashion industry and the realm of beauty pageantry in the United States. Her journey in the spotlight began when she was crowned Miss World United States in 2008. Lindell's modeling career has seen her collaborate with a distinguished roster of brands and publications, including Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, Neiman Marcus, Lancome Cosmetics, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Saks Fifth Avenue, Modern Bride, Brides Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, Macy's, David's Bridal, and True Religion.
That same year, she had the honor of representing her country on the international stage at the Miss World 2008 pageant, held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 13. During the competition, she advanced to the semi-finals and achieved a notable victory by winning the evening gown segment. Academically, Lindell pursued her higher education at the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Grady School of Journalism. While at the university, she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority. Her early education was completed at H.B. Plant High School.
