Luce Caponegro — Biography

Luce Caponegro, who is widely recognized by her stage name Selen, is an Italian actress, television presenter, and former adult film star. Born to an Italian industrialist who worked in the petroleum sector, Caponegro pursued various artistic interests during her childhood, taking lessons in singing, classical dance, and horseback riding. At 18, she married and moved out, spending two years living in a commune that lacked basic amenities like running water and heating. Caponegro is multilingual, fluent in both French and English in addition to her native Italian.

In her early twenties, Selen made her debut in the adult industry, featuring in an amateur hardcore film titled "Orgia di natale," directed by Cesare Geromini. Her significant breakthrough arrived at the age of 27 when director Alex Perry cast her in the film "Signore scandalose di provincia." It was during this period that she officially adopted her stage name. Selen quickly became celebrated as Italy's beloved pornographic actress, making notable appearances at events such as the Hot D'Or pornographic festival in Cannes and Erotica in Turin. Over her career from 1993 to 1999, she garnered 17 awards as a prominent figure in the industry.

Her final hardcore scenes were part of the film "Millennium," released in 2000. Although she filmed her last sex scene in 1999, Selen continued to feature in edited compilations in the years that followed. She has expressed that she has no intention of returning to the adult film industry in the future.
