Her career began in mainstream television during the 1990s, with an early role as Jessica Forrester on the CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful from 1994 to 1996. She subsequently appeared in various film and television productions through the mid-2000s, gaining recognition for her portrayal of Rachel McGuire during the final two seasons of the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World, which aired from 1998 to 2000. She also appeared in the 2004 comedy film White Chicks as Brittany Wilson. Ward stepped away from conventional acting in 2007.

Beginning in 2013, Ward started sharing intimate imagery on social media platforms including Snapchat and Instagram, building a substantial following. In 2016, she posted body-painted photographs taken by artist Luciano Paesani for a Los Angeles art exhibition. By 2019, Ward made the transition into adult film production, announcing her involvement in the feature Drive through Instagram. In May of that year, she signed with talent agency Society 15, having been approached by adult actress and director Kayden Kross. The film premiered on September 30, 2019 through Deeper.com and was followed by additional scenes on the same platform. Ward views her career shift as an authentic evolution and strategic business decision rather than a departure from her values.

Ward married real estate professional Terry Baxter on October 21, 2006 after meeting on a film set. The couple relocated to New York following their marriage, where Ward pursued studies in writing and screenwriting at New York University. In 2022, Atria Books published her memoir titled Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood.
