Margo Stevens — Biography

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Margo Stevens carved out a niche in the adult entertainment world, gracing 24 magazine covers, appearing in 18 photo spreads, and featuring in 6 video productions before her career concluded in 2003. Her journey began in the early 1990s at a Cleveland strip club, from which she advanced into adult films and eventually engaged in escort services. After several years of financial success in this industry, her fortunes waned, prompting a move to Miami. There, she fell into a difficult cycle of homelessness, substance abuse, and sex work. By December 2017, she was residing in a derelict 12-by-six-foot garage in Miami's Overtown neighborhood, sharing the space with four or five other homeless women she actively cared for. Many of these women, like Margo, relied on sex work for income and struggled with heroin addiction. Margo Stevens passed away on June 19th, 2020, from a heart attack, with a potential overdose being cited as a possible contributing factor.
