Margot Kidder — Biography

Margot Kidder, a performer with roots in both Canada and the United States, lent her talents to acting and advocacy across more than fifty years. She became widely recognized for embodying Lois Lane in the initial Superman cinematic adventures between 1978 and 1987. Her extensive body of work in film and television also earned her significant recognition, including two Canadian Film Awards, an Emmy, a Genie, and a Saturn Award. Kidder, an aunt to Janet Kidder, passed away on May 13, 2018, at her Montana residence in Livingston. Her passing at age 69 was officially determined to be a suicide, attributed to a self-administered overdose of drugs and alcohol. At the time of her death, Kidder had arrangements to attend the Motor City Comic Con in Novi, Michigan, later that same week.
