Maripily Rivera — Biography

Maripily Rivera is a Puerto Rican talent recognized for her work as an actress, model, and television personality. By June 2024, her social media presence on Instagram had grown to include 1.9 million followers. Her career in modeling commenced in 1995 with her participation in the Miss Puerto Rico Petite competition. She was a finalist in the same pageant in 1999. Rivera also appeared in the Telefutura network's reality program "Famosas VIP." On Puerto Rico's WAPA-TV, she co-hosted "Eso vale" and "No te duermas" alongside Héctor Marcano. Her television work also extended to JAM for Telemundo Internacional. In the 2009 Puerto Rican film Miente, Rivera portrayed a casino waitress. She was slated to make a cameo appearance in a 2012 Orlando, Florida, charity event featuring "Los Monologos de la Vagina" (The Vagina Monologues), but withdrew two days prior due to contractual disagreements and a prior year's issue with expense reimbursements. Regarding her personal life, Rivera Borrero has a son named José Antonio García, from a relationship with José Antonio García. She married baseball player Roberto Alomar on June 1, 2009. Rivera subsequently accused Alomar of domestic violence, and while a temporary injunction was issued, the charges were later dropped by the court. Rivera has been described with monikers such as "sex symbol," "drama queen," and the "Paris Hilton of Puerto Rico." In December 2013, she became engaged to businessman Alberto Rodríguez, with wedding plans for May 2014. The ceremony was planned for the historic Ponce Cathedral in Ponce, Puerto Rico, followed by a reception at the equally historic Castillo Serralles castle. Shanira Blanco was expected to serve as her maid of honor.
