Mathira Khan — Biography
Mathira is a Pakistani-Zimbabwean performer, recognized for her work as a model, dancer, television personality, singer, and actress. Her career has seen her host various television programs and feature in numerous music videos. She gained particular notice for her energetic performances in the item songs for the films Main Hoon Shahid Afridi and the Indian Punjabi production Young Malang.
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Mathira comes from a Muslim household, with a South African father and a Pakistani mother. Her sister, Rose Muhammad, is also an actress. After receiving her education in Zimbabwe, she relocated to Pakistan with her family due to instability in her birth country. Mathira's initial foray into the entertainment world involved appearing in music videos for songs such as Jadugar, Desi Beat, "Nachdi Kamal" by Malkoo, Woh Kaun Thi by Rizwan-ul-Haq, and "Jotha Tu Hai" by Arbaz Khan.
Her hosting career took off in March 2011 when she presented the late-night show Love Indicator on Vibe TV. This was followed by a cover appearance for a prominent Pakistani fashion magazine. In 2011, she also hosted the AAG TV program Baji Online. Mathira made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with an item song titled "Lakk Ch Current" in the Indian Punjabi film Young Malang. She also performed the item number "Masti Mein Doobi Raat Hai" in the Humayun Saeed-starrer Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. In late 2013, she appeared in the music video for the song "Jhootha" alongside rapper Arbaz Khan. In 2014, she took on an acting role in a film directed by Vipin Sharma. Her musical contributions continued in 2015 with the song "Piya Re," a rendition of Adnan Sami Khan's "Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein," featuring Furqan and Imran.
