Mercedes Ambrus — Biography
Born in Budapest on May 13, 1973, Mercedes Ambrus is a Hungarian figure who found fame initially as a model. Her early career saw her working with prominent Italian fashion houses, including Fiorucci, and gracing the pages of widely recognized publications like People magazine. Her trajectory shifted in 1989 when she encountered Riccardo Schicchi, a significant scout in the adult film industry, who brought her into the fold of his agency, Diva Futura. However, Ambrus carved a distinct niche for herself, steering clear of the more explicit content often associated with the industry. She cultivated an image of a "chaste" adult film performer, a persona she consistently upheld throughout her career, even in leading roles where she exclusively featured in softcore productions. Notably, Ambrus declined an offer from director Tinto Brass for a role in Tender is the Flesh, reportedly due to concerns that the character might detract from her carefully crafted image of ethereal beauty and unattainability. Her striking looks also earned her multiple appearances as a cover model for Playboy. She featured on the cover of the Hungarian edition in April 1992 and again in March 2001, and graced the cover of the Australian edition in December 1993. Further cementing her presence in print media, Ambrus was featured on the cover of the Italian magazine Excelsior in May 2003.
