Mindi Abair — Biography

Born on May 23, 1969, Mindi Abair is a multifaceted American artist renowned for her prowess on the saxophone, her singing talent, and her contributions as an author. She also holds a significant position as a National Trustee for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the body responsible for the prestigious Grammy Awards. Her independent musical journey has yielded an impressive track record, boasting ten chart-topping radio singles and two number-one albums on the Billboard Jazz charts. Furthermore, four of her other solo releases have reached the top five on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Charts. Abair was a featured performer, gracing the stage with her saxophone during the 2011 and 2012 seasons of the popular television show American Idol, and she has also shared her musical gifts with the iconic rock band Aerosmith.
