Between 2007 and 2012, she portrayed the character Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on the television medical drama House. Her film appearances include roles in Tron: Legacy from 2010, Cowboys & Aliens released in 2011, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone which came out in 2013, and The Lazarus Effect from 2015. In 2017, she made her theatrical debut on Broadway, taking on the role of Julia in a production of 1984. As a filmmaker, she directed Booksmart, a comedic film aimed at teenage audiences that premiered in 2019 and earned widespread critical praise, including winning the Independent Spirit Award in the Best First Feature category. Her second directorial effort, a thriller called Don't Worry Darling, arrived in 2022.
