Petra Verkaik — Biography
Petra Charlotte Verkaik entered the world on November 4, 1966, in Los Angeles, California. Her upbringing reflected cultural diversity, shaped by her Dutch father and Indonesian mother. As an only child, she initially spoke Dutch before transitioning to English in third grade. From her youth, she showed interest in performance and visual modeling. She earned a mechanical engineering degree from California State University, Northridge.
Her path into professional modeling began somewhat by chance in 1989. While pursuing acting opportunities, she needed portfolio photographs and agreed to model for a photographer in exchange for free images. The photographer submitted her work to Playboy, which subsequently invited her for a feature. Though initially uncertain about appearing nude, she ultimately participated in Playboy's February 1989 Great Playmate Hunt edition. This marked the beginning of an extended relationship with the magazine spanning over twenty years. She achieved the distinction of being the most frequently published woman in Playboy's history, accumulating more than seventy appearances across regular and special editions. December 1989 brought her Playmate of the Month designation, and in 1997 she received the Lingerie Readers' Choice Model award. A 2001 reader poll voted her the Sexiest Playmate of the 1980s. Between 1996 and 2010, she represented the brand at Glamourcon events and returned in 2010 for the Playmate Xtra series. During 1995, she established Pin-Up Girls, her own production company, demonstrating entrepreneurial initiative within the modeling industry despite initially facing sixty thousand dollars in debt.
Her acting appearances remained modest, including uncredited work in Rainbow Drive and roles in Pyrates with Kevin Bacon, Auntie Lee's Meat Pies, Love Potion No. 9, The Last Road, and Citizen Toxie. Television guest spots included Married with Children in 1996 and The Howard Stern Show in 1997. A Galaxy Quest role was removed before theatrical release. These mainstream opportunities did not establish significant career prominence.
Standing five feet eight inches tall and weighing approximately one hundred twenty pounds during her 1989 Playmate shoot, Verkaik possessed an hourglass figure naturally. Her measurements registered at thirty-seven, twenty-four, thirty-five inches. Her distinctive physical attributes, particularly her naturally large frame, became signature elements of her public image. Both she and Playboy refuted augmentation rumors, confirming the authenticity of her physique. She has maintained no permanent tattoos and no documented surgical enhancements beyond her natural form.
In 1999, she launched Petra Central, a personal website featuring over four hundred photosets and one hundred fifty videos. In April 2020, she joined OnlyF
